Happy February!! Recently I picked up a book by a very famous author Nora Roberts and I really wanted to read what she had to offer in this book. She has been claimed as the most successful novelist on planet Earth by Washington post. So here is what I thought of it.
Brady to Vanessa- “I’m not one of your smooth, well mannered lovers, Van. I won’t pressure or threaten or seduce. When the time comes, I’ll just take.”
Key highlights of the book:
The book cover-
The cover is a scenic capture of a subtle countryside with a couple seemingly in love. At first glance, the book cover does not really make you feel to pick up and read the contents, but the book title definitely does that role pretty well. The cover is designed by Harlequin (UK) and cover images are by Getty and Shutterstock.
The story revolves around Hyattown rising star Vanessa who has made a real reputation as a musician and performer and the way she discovers all the truths, once she returns to the town, behind all the stories she believed to be true about her mother, school sweetheart Brady and her late father while she was out of town. The novel is very well expressed and the author has left no stone unturned to bring out the real emotions of the story as it progresses.
Brady, on the other hand, portrays a very strong character, which in childhood had been responsible for pain equivalent of heartbreak but wants to set things right at all costs.
Besides the story, the fact I loved the most in this book was the beauty with which the truth unfolded for Vanessa and the way she was determined to take control of her life once Brady made her realize it.
To be honest, I really did not find any flaw in this one. It is a pure free will story with emotions and reality carefully entwined and systematically portrayed.
Book in a line– Unbelievably good read with spectacular story coming straight from heart and beautifully articulated. Simply loved it!
That’s all for this one. Let me know in comments below about your reviews of this book.
